Let us say without equivocation, the ‘A’ in LGBTQIA represents millions of Asexual, Agender, and Aromantic people, who are far too often left out of the conversation about acceptance. It was never, ever our intention to suggest otherwise, and we apologize.
Acknowledge and support asexual students in your classroom or GSA this Asexual Awareness Week and every week! ♠️💜

Intimate photos of agender youth challenge society’s gender norms
"I think a lot of people like to see gender as this scale of blue and pink," Emma, a 20-year-old college student, told the magazine. "I never really identified with either side of that, or even in between blue and pink. It’s so much more complicated — my identity varies so much on any given day. Sometimes I tell people I’m gold or something."
I appreciate that it includes a bit from the original article, which clarifies:
"This growing community encompasses people who see themselves as agender (neither male nor female), bi-gender (both genders) and gender-fluid (shifting from male to female)."
THIS IS SERIOUSLY THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SEEN A PHOTO SET OF AGENDER PEOPLE ON THIS SITE!!!
*BOUNCES UP AND DOWN IN EXCITEMENT*
as usual there’s some gross comments so don’t scroll too far down past the article but this is otherwise good

Hi! Thanks for writing! Ally Week was started in 2005 by a group of LGBT middle & high school student leaders participating in GLSEN’s Jump-Start Student Leadership program. It was held at the end of October. Each year, we check school calendars nationwide for major conflicts and it’s been held in the end of October every year since then.
This year, we’re putting a particular emphasis on becoming #BetterAllies. For adults (LGBT or not) to be better allies to LGBT youth. And for LGBT youth to be better allies to their/our peers (cisgender LGBQ folks to trans* youth, white LGBT people to people of color, etc). Obviously we can all be better allies and so we see the overlap of Asexual Awareness Week and Ally Week this year as an opportunity to complement each other, rather than compete.
Here’s to successful Asexual Awareness and Ally Weeks!

This one time Fun. came to a Jump Start student leadership meeting run by our Middle Tennessee chapter. And it was awesome.
Bayli Silberstein, an 8th grade student in Florida, has been trying for a year to create a Gay-Straight Alliance, a student-led club to combat the name-calling and bullying she and her friends face at school. But in an underhanded attempt to stop Bayli from forming the Gay-Straight Alliance, the school board is considering banning ALL extracurricular clubs.
The school board will be discussing the proposal on February 18, so we’ve got to act now to mobilize a public response. Join us in calling on the Lake County School Board to stop the assault on students’ freedom of expression.
