Self-Love Is More Important Than Perfection
Coloring pages with affirmations for the school year.
By Elona Jones and Alyssa Etoile.
Trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming students, this is a moment for you. This is a moment to remind you that your pronouns are valid. This is also a moment to acknowledge the anxiety and stress that you might experience if you’re sharing pronouns (for the first or fiftieth time) or being misgendered. You are not alone.
Your gender self-determination is work. You existing as your beautiful self is work. As we work towards manifesting a world where folks can self-identify their gender freely and without anxiety, these affirmations are here to remind you that you have a right to feel at home with yourself.
Friday affirmations from former GLSEN Student Ambassadors! You are important – never forget it!

The University of Victoria houses the Transgender Archives, a massive collection of books, art, photos, posters, newsletters, memorabilia, and more documenting transgender and gender nonconforming communities. If you were to the entire collection into boxes, they could sit on a shelf the length of a football field.

The Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) is launching a campaign called #SpotTheSticker to bring attention to its Safe Space stickers and posters, which teachers can hang up at school to demonstrate that they support LGBT students. If you’ve seen a Safe Space sticker around your school, take a picture of it and share it with GLSEN to show teachers why they should help create safe and affirming spaces for all students. Woohoo! I HAVE TO DO THIS.
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Before we get on with the post, it’s important to note that these are two groups of diverse people who are very unique in many ways! However, in light of the month, (and mainly due to the fact that a lot of the resources available online are for both groups), here is a compilation of resources for Asian and Pacific Islander LGBTQ+ people! Other masterposts can be found here (and don’t hesitate to add anything if you have resources to contribute)!
