Awesome words from Evan Rachel Wood to keep in mind this Bisexual Awareness Week!
Point being, its ok. We do exist. Don’t let anyone make you feel unworthy. No one knows your journey but you.
We recently asked LGBTQ members of the BuzzFeed Community what they want to hear, and what great things they heard from the straight people in their lives following the tragedy at an LGBTQ club in Orlando.

“Dhee” is a Bangla word which translates to knowledge, wisdom, or comprehension…. “Dhee makes human beings curious, innovate and seek out the unknown. When knowledge merges with our human instinct of compassion, we simply become better human beings,” states BoB’s press release about Dhee.
“What’s the difference between a good school district and Senator Ted Cruz? Good school districts quietly go about doing the right thing by all of their students. Sen. Cruz makes loud, thoughtless pronouncements to shill for votes at the expense of young people’s wellbeing. Numerous school districts around the country have policies in place, some of which have existed for decades, that protect and affirm transgender students. These policies were established by local leaders who understand what it takes to create safe and welcoming schools – something Sen. Cruz clearly knows nothing about. For him to make these statements on the eve of Transgender Day of Remembrance, when we mourn the loss of far too many to transphobic hate, is particularly shameful.” - GLSEN’s Executive Director, Dr. Eliza Byard, responds to Ted Cruz’s comments about transgender students.
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Before we get on with the post, it’s important to note that these are two groups of diverse people who are very unique in many ways! However, in light of the month, (and mainly due to the fact that a lot of the resources available online are for both groups), here is a compilation of resources for Asian and Pacific Islander LGBTQ+ people! Other masterposts can be found here (and don’t hesitate to add anything if you have resources to contribute)!
