The National AIDS Trust asked LGBTQ individuals to describe their sex education experiences in school.
Sadly, the answers are far too common, no matter what side of the pond you’re on.
We couldn’t be prouder of Jazz Jennings, a 14-year-old transgender advocate who had a pretty amazing week. In addition to being a published author and nationally known activist, she’s now the face of a new Clean & Clear campaign and the star of a forthcoming reality series about her journey as a trans teen. Way to go, Jazz!

Today is the first day of GLSEN’s Ally Week, and we’re pumped to get talking about what it means to be an ally to LGBT youth.
Allyship is more than supporting marriage equality or having a gay friend. Allyship means advocating for others whose experiences you may not share, supporting others unconditionally, and learning when it’s your place to step in – and when it’s not.
Our pals at BuzzFeed are helping us share some tips on how to be a better ally to LGBT youth and others. We’re spending this week teaching our allies what we need from them, and hoping they’ll do their part to spread the word, too.
